Microsoft Select Home Use Clarification

The Microsoft Work At Home Rights are described on the following web page: http://www.microsoft.com/education/?ID=WorkHome

The WSIPC Select Enrollments are under the Select 5.1. (If you are a School Agreement 1.0 customers, please contact Jim Page (jpage@wsipc.org) so he can explain it to you).

The district can decide NOT to permit home usage, even though MicroSoft would allow it. Some districts feel that they cannot assume the liability for teachers possibly failing to abide by the rules. Some districts implementing Work At Home allow staff to check out a copy of the media, but will not support troubleshooting on their home workstations. (Districts MAY produce as many copies of the media as they need for their internal uses, such as this.) They need to also make sure the staff member has an appropriate Product Key Code for the installation.

MS does have educator pricing on selected products, and any retail AER (Authorized Education Reseller) can sell to school employees at those prices. List price for Office XP (Standard) is $149, but discounting is common on the streets. For information on AERs, contact Jim Page. The Office XP price is also available for now to K12 students.
