The Ed Tech Support Centers in Washington support a variety of tools and processes to support districts as they implement technology into their curriculum. All of the tools are free, all involve the collection of data, all promote 2nd order to change to some degree, and all would be best facilitated by an ETSC staff person or district personnel. Please contact your regional ETSC Director for further information about these tools at http://www.edtech.wednet.edu/etsccorner/directory.shtml

Technology Program Review
This process, developed by the Ed Tech Support Center of PSESD, involves an external review of Technology Department programs and services. It includes a Summative Evaluation Methodology that involves measurement and documentation of a program’s impact on a school district. Download the following PDF documents:

Evaluation Components -- this describes the potential components of an audit/review from which a district chooses those pieces that they wish to include.
Interview Questions -- these three questions are used when meeting with groups or individuals.
Survey -- this is a sample survey result

Profile Tool - This program from NCREL is intended to help educators think carefully about classroom practice related to engaged learning and technology. The program presents indicators of engaged learning and indicators of technology. For each indicator there are three descriptions that educators can compare to their own practice. Educators select the description most like their own practice or situation. When finished with both sets of indicators the results can be viewed in graphical format. A group composite is generated that provides a touch point for each educator to compare to. A “vision group” comparison is also included, providing reviewers and planners a target for future program implementation. Download the following PDF documents:

PILOT (Prepare to Integrate Learning Opportunities with Technology)
The site serves many purposes: It is an online, self-assessment tool for educators to determine their levels of technology proficiency and classroom application. Based upon the results of the assessment, it is a place for educators to view and select learning opportunities throughout the state to advance their proficiency level. In addition, charts can be displayed showing the overall level for teachers at a school site as well as within a district, region, or for the entire state. And it is a tool for districts to use with their staff to plan their professional development efforts. http://www.edtech.wednet.edu/pilot
