NCLB for Technology Download Documents

ACPE, with sponsorship from Dell Computer Corp., presented a videoconference to explore No Child Left Behind legislation and the role of technology on Wednesday, January 29, 2003.

NCLB: Designed to improve student achievement, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 is a landmark decision in education reform. Embodying four key principals - accountability for results; flexibility; parental choice; and scientifically proven methods - the act is a sweeping overhaul of federal support of elementary and secondary education.

The myriad initiatives involve 10 separate entitlements in which technology is a key component. The intended purpose of the session was to take 1,600 pages of legislation and translate that information into something that districts could take away and easily implement and understand to best leverage this funding program.
